WEIGHT CONTROL Peter Mabbutt |

| Whether
it is through image or health concerns, for many people control of their
weight becomes a major issue within their life. They invest a great deal
of time and money riding the dieting merry-go-round, first losing and then
gaining weight in a repetitive cycle without an effective outcome. Consequently
dieting becomes a dirty word which the unconscious mind equates with starvation.
On completion of the diet, the mind and body will often respond by overindulging
in the previously prohibited food with the result that any weight lost
is immediately put back on again.
Effective and permanent weight loss will not occur through prohibition and restriction of certain foods, but comes about through effective lifestyle change. As therapists it is important for us to acknowledge this and to include appropriate suggestions that will lead the patient towards a healthy change in their lifestyle with the concurrent desired loss in weight. This Masterclass aims to provide therapists with a thorough understanding of the process involved in hypnotic weight management. We will be looking at the underlying psychology of weight control and at effective strategies that can be employed by the therapist to help the patient achieve permanent weight loss. |
Even
though a majority of weight loss can be regarded as ‘simple’ it is important
for therapists to be able to recognize and treat weight control problems
for which there is an underlying psychological foundation. With this in
mind analytical approaches to weight control will also be presented.

GOLD COUNSELLING Georges Philips |

| Great
work is often tragically undone when the client inadvertently continues
to use language which will be detrimental to his well-being. The client
may, therefore, remain unclear and often confused as to why things happen
to him in his life - mainly because he will naturally have little or no
understanding of the mechanisms of the way in which the human mind operates.
One can easily be forgiven for assuming that the client will know what
to do in order to maintain the good results which he has achieved during
his therapeutic journey. A scant amount of time, therefore, will usually
be devoted in therapy to giving the client some practical assistance which
would significantly enhance his treatment.
This
course will provide you with a unique opportunity to gain much-needed insight
and to turn your practice around so that you can gain an edge. The training
has been designed so that you can formulate dynamic therapeutic strategies.
Such strategies will include encouraging your client to avoid or to limit
the use of certain negatively-slanted words such as "why", "but" and "always".
The course will also present a methodology which would permit your client
to take a snapshot of where he is right now and, thus, allow himself the
opportunity to see where he may need additional assistance.

Beliefs
play a vital role in therapy. Beliefs are the foundation on which we all
live our lives. It will, thus, be your personal beliefs which will need
to be modified in order to empower your client to truly experience a new
way of being.
An explanation and a strategy will be demonstrated which will allow you to be able to simply, efficiently and effectively educate your client, who can then gain a better understanding of how he can continue to assess his progress and know when it is time to come back for support. SYLLABUS:
