| Question:
In this era of managed health care and escalating medical expenses, what
impact will alternative medical and complementary health care practices
have in the coming millennium regarding the way we view and treat illnesses
that involve both body and mind?
Answer: I believe the effect will be enormous. The greater understanding that we are now developing regarding the role of mind, on the role of nutrition, on the role of determination and intentionality, on our own roots and existence, how we came to be, will have significant implications on maintenance of health, both mental and physical. Question: Inasmuch as matter and energy are interchangable at the quantum level, what would you say to those individuals who proclaim that consciousness terminates at the time of physical death? Answer: Something persists that represents the experience of the individual. All of us, but particularly the great mystics who have been performing certain exercises and perfecting those techniques of how to get in touch with the greater reality of what in the Sanskrit would be called ‘The All That Is’, understand that what we consciously consider reality is only a reflection of a greater reality that has attributes not easily explainable within the limited parameters of a three dimensional system. Entry into and exploration of altered states of awareness undeniably changes one’s perceptions, expands one’s self-imposed belief systems and permits one to banish fear of death. One then knows that it is ‘okay’, that life, and something of us is ongoing. Some belief systems would have a definition of a soul or spirit that is ongoing. The current modelling from physics leads us to make a strong argument that what goes on, what is perpetuated, is the experience of a life, the entire experiential history of that life, and that is carried in and manifested within the quantum hologram. The
question of whether that has action capability in and of itself, after
the death of the physical body,
Question: In other words, from the implicate order to the explicate order, according to the laws of quantum physics. Answer: Exactly. And so the evidence would suggest that from this model, what is perpetuated is the experience base that is passed on to a new individual. I often say, in my own lecturing, that it is impossible to tell the difference between an old soul and a new soul with a long memory. Question: What evidence exists, Dr. Mitchell, that consciousness is capable of influencing the formation and behaviour of matter at both the subatomic and gross levels? Answer: The information is veritably overwhelming. We have observed, we have tested, we have experimented with and theorized about the role of mind to directly influence matter. And it is abundantly clear that it does. |
The
reductionist thinkers who persist in refuting the innumerable studies that
have been replicated are analogous to the medieval clergy who condemned
Galileo.
Question: How would you decribe your most significant experiences regarding your personal travels into non-ordinary states of consciousness? Answer: The most exalted state, the nirvikalpa samadhi, is a blissful state of awareness in which there is perceived only the Self; inasmuch as there are no thoughts or objects present during that experience, the Self is expanded into and merges with the entire field of mind so that pure awareness and an all-encompassing ecstasy infuse every cell of one’s body resulting in a feeling of certainty about the eternal nature of Self. In close proximity is the savikalpa samadhi, a state where objects are observed as separate from Self, and at the same time appear connected to one another and to Self and that the separation that is perceived is ultimately an illusion. This latter state is what I experienced in deep space upon our return from the moon. Question: A significant number of individuals, from all levels of society, have reported interaction with, and abduction by, extraterrestrial entities. Are those persons reacting to a phenomena that warrants our concern or are they simply experiencing disorders that are indicative of underlying pathologies? Answer: Yes, to all of the above. I believe that there has been alien and human interaction and I say that not as a result of my personal experience in any way, but in interviewing and talking with people who have been in high level positions in government, whose business it was, and whose duty it was, to know about that type of phenomena. Those individuals were operating under the constraints of rules of great security and classification and they are now wanting to tell their story to the public because they believe the present time is appropriate. I
have worked with enough of those individuals that
We find some of them who have physical evidence, or physical circumstances, that suggest their stories are in some large way true. We also find that some people are ‘me too’ copycats who clearly fabricate stories. And I think we are also finding there has been enough publication of this phenomena that it seems to be filtering into the collective and cultural consciousness and is being used, for example, as an explanation for things such as bad dreams. So the answer is that we seem to have all of these scenarios taking place. Question: Do you think that our governments are attempting to educate or manipulate the public, in subtle ways, regarding the reality of extraterrestrial visitation? Is there not a pattern developing? After all, we cannot deny the proliferation of television programmes that focus upon paranormal phenomena and UFOs. Answer: I do see a pattern developing, but I don’t think it has much to do with government. Official government, as I can see, is terribly naive about these events. continues
