7. Other useful tips

If you are a good therapist word travels astonishingly fast and wide in rural areas. So give out lots of business cards and do not shy away from making appointments with clients living far away. Be very, very strict with yourself regarding confidentiality ... people know each other in rural areas and word travels, as said, very fast and wide. Contact other agencies like Drop in Centres, Alcohol and Drug Centres, Youth Centres in your nearest small town and let them know that you exist. Another way is to get in touch with the Adult Education Centres around you and offer a class (Relaxation, Stress Management, Assertiveness Training and so on). Be sure that you know precisely what you want to offer, have a structure ready and be prepared to show all your qualifications. And last, but not least: do not forget that you had a ‘professional’ life before you became a Hypnotherapist. Combine your skills and create something which is unique, and, don’t give up!. Here in the Westcountry, like everywhere else, skills and marketing have to be combined with perseverance to achieve goals.

The Exeter team would like to congratulate all students passing their Practitioner examination this spring. (See picture). They were a great, hard working group with a wonderful sense of humour.
