Clinical Studies

Pain - musculoskeletal pain (arthritis rheumatism) and psychogenic pain will be discussed together with techniques involving the LCCH multimodal approach. Pain alongside phobic responses relating to dental treatment will also be covered.

Eating disorders - Anorexia nervosa and bulimia will be discussed with a full description of techniques specifically developed by the LCCH for achieving remission with these often very refractive conditions.

Anxiety disorders - Both recursive and free floating anxiety states will be discussed together with those conditions closely associated with anxiety. Techniques to resolve phobias and panic attacks will be presented both in terms of rapid resolution of symptoms and treating the underlying causes, using brief strategic approaches.

Agoraphobia - The aetiology of agoraphobia is discussed and compared/contrasted to that of claustrophobia. The role of anxiety and avoidance will be stressed alongside secondary associated problems. The LCCH method for treating these patients with hypnotherapy will be presented. 

Erythrophobia - A brief discussion of the problem will be followed by suggested hypnotherapeutic and paradoxical strategies.

Cardiophobia - Different forms of cardiophobia will be outlined. Hypnotherapeutic interventions will be discussed including the use of advanced techniques developed by the LCCH.

Performance anxiety - Techniques both with and without the use of the trance state will be outlined. Many conditions (including psychosexual problems) are also related to performance anxiety.

Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) - The aetiology of OCD's will be discussed briefly with reference to both dissociative and paradoxical approaches in order to gain rapid remission from this often very incapacitating condition.

Dermatology - The role of hypnotherapy in dermatology and skin diseases will be discussed with reference to their origin and symptomatology. An advanced metaphorical technique for use with skin conditions will also be presented.

Pseudo dyslexia /stuttering - Techniques for dealing with these conditions together with a discussion on accessing strategies will be covered.

Nocturnal enuresis and associated childhood conditions - Will be discussed in terms of their aetiology and resolution using brief strategic approaches. 

Sleep disorders - This topic will be discussed with a view to utilising both conventional hypnotherapeutic and paradoxical techniques to restore normal sleep patterns. 

Tranquillisers/Hypnotics - The excessive use of these medications is often associated with insomnia and techniques for recreating the patient's 'coping strategy' will be outlined.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) - Many patients suffering from this complaint often have repressed emotional incidents and high levels of stress. The LCCH approach to treatment is outlined in a multi stage format.

Obstetrics - Pain and the desire for many women to deliver naturally are the main issues. The role of hypnotherapy for pain control will be the central focus together with a consideration of events in the ante and post natal periods.

Psychosexual - Psychosexual problems ranging from psychogenic impotence, frigidity, vaginismus, premature ejaculation and anorgasmia are discussed in the light of possible hypnotherapeutic interventions.

Nail biting, Bruxism - These conditions although common in children will be discussed with a view to treatment both in childhood and the adult.

Smoking and weight control - These two conditions although not strictly medically based problems often have a profound effect on a patient's well being and do respond to hypnotherapeutic intervention in motivated individuals. The LCCH methods emphasise practical techniques and the most appropriate approaches in order to obtain fast remission.

Depression/Paranoia - Guidelines of the LCCH methods for treating non-clinical depression will be presented. It will be stressed that only neurotic paranoia is amenable to hypnotherapy.

Myocardial infarction - Many patients presenting with MI are likely to develop a second infarct as a result of stress related conditions and self restricted life styles. The LCCH programme for hypnotherapeutic intervention will be presented with emphasis on maximising the patient's quality of life.

Childhood anxiety disorders - A brief aetiology will be followed by a classification of disorders and the treatment (Braiding) process that can be used to ameliorate the problem.

Alcohol dependency syndrome - The 'real' alcoholic is difficult to treat by any means and hypnotherapeutic interventions will be centred around the treatment of the heavy drinker. The two stage LCCH protocol will be presented.

Psychosomatic Dystonia - Conditions such as writers cramp, torticollis and blepharospasm are classified as types of dystonia. In addition many type of tics arise from psychological origins. The use of medical hypnosis to treat these conditions will be discussed.

Asthma and allergy - Will be discussed with reference to their occurrence both in adults and children.

Tinnitus - A variety of hypnotherapeutic techniques will be presented which may be used to help alleviate this very distressing symptom, which in certain cases can lead to suicide.

Headaches - Types of headache will be discussed together with the LCCH strategies for their remission.
