Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) was developed by Steve de Shazer in 1985 and is based on the work of Milton Erickson. SFT is a model of counselling that employs language and ques-tions that will generate solutions to the client’s presenting problems. The client is viewed as “knowing what is best”, and so the focus is on their strengths, competences, possibilities and attempted solutions. It has great potential for use in a wide variety of presenting physical and mental health problems, and is a brief therapy model that is unique in its primary focus on solutions.

This masterclass is a well-structured introduction to Solution Focused Therapy and will provide you with key skills that can be implemented in your practice immediately. It is very practical and is designed so that you can immediately make use of the techniques.

SJANIE HUGO B.A, D.Hyp, PGD.Hyp is an international lecturer at the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. She specialises in working with women’s health issues. Alongside her general hypnotherapy practice she works with a team of integrated health practitioners at the Zita West Fertility Clinic. Sjanie trained in solution focused approaches at the Brief Therapy Centre in London. Her approach to therapy integrates these skills to help clients create rapid and lasting change.
