Diabetes - Putting You in Control
Lecturer: Terri Andrews-Dunne

Diabetes is, even in this day and age, often misunderstood. Comments such as; "Is it catching" and "You have to avoid sugar, don't you?" still pervade the conversations of family and friends around the newly diagnosed sufferer.

This Masterclass is not aimed at medical practitioners but therapists, diabetics, and the family and friends of diabetics. There are two types of diabetes, one controlled by diet or diet and tablet. the other controlled by regular injections of insulin. Diabetes can affect one's lifestyle drastically - if it is allowed to so do.

Coping strategies between the two types of diabetes vary drastically as do those between differing age groups. The hypnotherapeutic experience can be extremely positive and worthwhile for diabetics of all ages, shapes and sizes - if the therapist understands diabetic dilemmas.

One of the major problems with diabetes is the diabetes controlling the patient rather than the patient controlling the diabetes. This Masterclass aims to give an understanding of the condition, the problems that can go with the condition and how hypnotherapy can help in controlling diabetes - thereby giving the hypnotherapist tools for helping the diabetic to enjoy a fuller and less fraught lifestyle.
