  1. I want to practice as a hypnotherapist, which course should I join, how soon can I start to prectice?

The course you would start with is the CPPD Clinical Hypnosis which is designed to introduce you to the concepts and techniques of hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

This is followed by the Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy that is designed to give you the therapeutic skills to treat the majority of standard presenting symptoms a hypnotherapist is likely to encounter in therapy. This is the first exit point at which you would be able to practice.

We also run advanced classes that teach practitioners how to treat trauma-based symptoms and to use CBT concepts in the hypnotherapeutic environment.

  2. How do I enrol on a course?

If you request a prospectus a booking form will be sent you.

If you book online this also starts the enrolment process.

Online booking: You can pay for a first installment or the whole sum by clicking on the "Book online" button present after each list of dates on the dates / fees pages. Hover over "Schedule" at the top of the page, click on your desired location, scroll down to find the course that you are interesed in booking yourself onto and click on the "Book online" button.

Direct links for the dates / fees pages are: Birmingham, Exeter, Glasgow - Scotland, Leeds, London and Manchester.

  3. Are all of the interviews in London?

No - interviews are conducted at any of our regional centres.

  4. Could I have a reading list before starting the CPPD?

When you attend for interview, you will be given notes for the first weekend of the course. This includes a reading list. A list is also available online by clicking here...

  5. Do I become a LCCH or a TVU student?

Both. LCCH/TVU courses are validated by TVU rather than accredited by TVU. This means that the LCCH teaches and runs courses but you are also a card-holding TVU student and TVU generates your certificate.

  6. How soon before a course do I need to book?

The earlier you book the greater the probability that you will get a place on the course of your choice. The last possible opportunity is by booking online the day before the course is due to start.

  7. Is there an interview and do you require references?

Yes - there is an interview. It takes anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half and the references can either be 2 personal ones, or one personal and one professional one. We appreciate that some people do not want to supply a professional one as it may impact their position at work, so 2 from people that know you personally, other than your immediate family, is fine. The reference just needs to state in what capacity they know you, for how long and your suitability for the course.
