What is synthesis? Do I have to come up with my own unique and new theories?
Here's one view. Click here... Essentially, "...synthesis is a written discussion that draws on two or more sources. In writing a synthesis, you infer relationships between sources, both written and non-written." Here's another view Click here...
There are two forms of synthesis - "Explanatory" and "Argument"
- Explanatory synthesis draws upon multiple sources of information in order to allow readers to understand a topic objectively, or
- Argument synthesis draws upon multiple sources of information in order to present your own perspective or theory in a logical and objective manner.
Therefore you do not have to develop a new theory but you can if you wish to.
