Medical Diploma Examination

Introduction | Prospectus - 1/2 | Examination | Course dates / fees / online-booking | Prospectus request form

At the end of the course students will be required to pass both a written and a practical (oral) examination:

PART ONE

1. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate their knowledge of induction and deepening techniques and how they would conduct a consultation with view to hypnotherapeutic interventions. Candidates will undergo a short Viva Voce examination with questions relating to the contra-indications to hypnotherapy, its limitations and treatment of certain presenting conditions.

2. Candidates will be presented with a diagnosed case, they will then be asked to demonstrate one of the dissociative techniques to effect a remission.

PART TWO

1. The first part will consist of a series of multiple choice questions and short answer topics, (one hour)

2. For the second paper candidates will be examined on their knowledge of diagnostic techniques used in medical hypnotherapy, they will then be presented with a theoretical case and asked to write short notes on how they would deal with the case, including a brief description of the hypnotherapeutic techniques used. (one and a half hours)

3. This paper will consist of a written essay and will be centred about therapeutic manoeuvres to treat conditions which have been taught during the course.

Advanced studies - Masterclasses

Graduates will be encouraged to continue a close association with the medical division of the LCCH and will be notified of masterclasses in current hypnotherapeutic techniques where individuals from other hypnotherapy organisations are also invited to attend. Graduates who have trained with the LCCH are able to keep in touch at these meetings and can meet and discuss new ideas and techniques with fellow hypnotherapy professionals. Our masterclasses provide an ideal opportunity for such periodic contact.

European Journal of Clinical Hypnosis

The EJCH is recognised throughout the world as among the leading publications in the field of clinical hypnotherapy. It is a publication which we feel no serious practitioner should be without. It provides a forum within which hypnotherapists can communicate with their peers and keep abreast of developments in the profession.
