The 'Psychotherapeutic Studies' and 'Clinical Studies and Application of Techniques' modules are taught through lectures, demonstrations, practical experience and home study using supplemental material and personal research.

At the end of the Post-Graduate Certificate in Clinical Hypnotherapy (Diploma) Course students will be required to pass both a practical (oral) and a written examination. Successful candidates will gain their Post-Graduate Certificate in Clinical Hypnotherapy and are deemed to be of a level to practice hypnotherapy. Graduates will be encouraged to practice under the auspices of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and may apply for a place on the CPPD Practitioner Studies or CPPD in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy courses.

Exam

The exam takes place approximately one month after the final weekend of the course. It is composed of three parts:

  1. a written case study handed in on the day of examination
  2. two written assessments (1 handed in on weekend 6, the other on the day of the exam)
  3. a practical assessment

In order to sit for examination, students must have attended at least 80% of the course, have completed (and passed) the required coursework and have completed at least twelve tutorial sessions.
