LCCH HYPNOTHERAPY TRAINING ACCREDITATION

University of West London (Formerly Thames Valley University)

We are pleased to announce our collaborative partnership with the University of West London (formerly Thames Valley University) in respect of LCCH courses in Clinical Hypnosis.

UWL (UWL) has over 140 years experience as a higher education learning provider in both the technical and vocational arena as a college of Higher education, a polytechnic and a University (1992).

From March 2008 the LCCH Certificate course has been validated as a Certificate in Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) in Clinical Hypnosis at Level 6. The LCCH and UWL (UWL) are offering the CPPD in Clinical Hypnosis as an entry point qualification for a postgraduate programme leading towards a Masters degree in Clinical Hypnosis.

From October 2008 the LCCH Diploma Course has been validated as a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Hypnosis. Students successfully completing this course will be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Clinical Hypnosis.

From October 2008 the LCCH Practitioner Course and the LCCH Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy Course has been validated as a CPPD in Practitioner Studies and a CPPD in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. Students successfully completing both these CPPDs will be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) in Clinical Hypnosis.

Students successfully completing the PGDip will be eligible to enrol in the Masters of Science (MSc) in Clinical Hypnosis programme which will consist of a Research Methods module and a dissertation relevant to Clinical Hypnosis.

Prior LCCH students and students from other hypnotherapy training programmes are eligible to transfer in to the UWL (UWL) programme as UWL (UWL) students by successfully completing the appropriate bridging/conversion courses.

Currently no other hypnotherapy training organisation can offer students a University validated programme of study leading to a postgraduate qualification. Our collaborative partnership with the University of West London is a significant step forward in our commitment to providing the highest quality training for those wishing to study Clinical Hypnosis whilst at the same time providing a higher education qualification that is recognised and trusted at the national and international level by both the established medical professions and the general public alike.

British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

The LCCH is an Organisational Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

BACP is the UK's largest counselling and psychotherapy organisation, supporting and representing its 22,000 members nationally and internationally. Membership of BACP is an excellent way in which counsellors/psychotherapists can show their commitment to the field of the psychological therapies, demonstrating that they are informed and up-to-date with all professional developments. Membership supports and enriches students’ training and indicates to professionals, employers and the public alike that they practise responsibly to the highest of ethical standards.

British Association of Medical Hypnosis (BAMH)

The British Association of Medical Hypnosis is primarily a medical organisation. Full membership of the BAMH is open only to holders of a medical or dental degree (e.g MB BS or BDS). However, the Association will accept non-medical members as Affiliates and Associates.

On obtaining their Practitioner Diploma, candidates will be entitled to apply for Affiliate membership of the BAMH to enable their names to be placed on their Medical Register. Affiliates must hold the PDCHyp. and also need to have completed at least one full year’s membership of their own approved hypnotherapy society/association. In addition, they must be proposed by two members of the BAMH.

Medical Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis (MDCH)

The Medical Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis course is specifically designed for medical personnel. All students must hold a recognised medical or dental qualification (e.g MB BS or BDS), and, as such, the course is not open to the general public.

The Medical Course in Clinical Hypnosis (MDCH) has been approved for 60 PGEA credits by individual Health Authorities.
